Gomme d’acacia/ Acacia gum

Acacia gum, often known as gum arabic, is a gum made from the dried sap of many acacia tree species. Acacia nilotica, Senegalia (Acacia) senegal, and Vachellia (Acacia) seyal are the three most significant species. During the rainy season, holes are drilled into the bark of the acacia tree, and the sap is drawn out to be collected. By the first of November, this gum has been processed and is prepared for sale.Gum arabic was first used to seal bandage wrappings on mummies in Egypt. It was used by the ancient Greeks to reduce nosebleeds, treat blisters, and relieve pain from burns. In the modern food industry, gum arabic is employed as an emulsifier, stabilizer, and thickening agent in a variety of food products. Sudan is the greatest producer, with Nigeria and Chad also contributing significantly to its production.
